The Ball Outside Left Foot Drill will improve your ball striking so you eliminate fats and thins from your game.
Steps
Step 1: Watch
Watch the video.
Step 2: Ball Outside Left Foot
Address the ball. Place the ball outside your left foot. Keep the clubface where it would normally be (e.g. middle of the stance). Hit the ball. This will teach you to hit down and take a divot after striking the ball. It will teach you to chase the ball like Lee Trevino. There’s a good reason that Lee Trevino is regarded by his fellow pros as being the best “ball striker” that ever lived. The reason is he chased the ball! Hit 10 balls, then bring the ball back to the normal position and hit 10 shots feeling the same “chasing the ball” move.
If you’re doing this as an “indoor golf drill”, get a doormat, imagine a ball on the outside of your left foot, and hit the imaginary shot.
Step 3: Keep Score
Hit 10 balls. Give yourself one point each time you hit the ball when it’s positioned on the outside of your left foot.
